Inclusion of a public organization in the register of volunteer organizations

Case: VINCO’S lawyers prepared and filed all documents required to include a public organization in the register of volunteer organizations.

After inclusion in the register of volunteer organizations, a public organization may officially provide volunteer assistance and engage volunteers in its activities. Also, under the Law of Ukraine “On Volunteer Activity,” a public organization may carry out the following:

• conduct activities with or without concluding an agreement on volunteer activity with a volunteer, in accordance with the established procedure;
• receive funds and other property for carrying out volunteer activity;
• independently determine the areas of volunteer activity;
• issue identity cards to volunteers confirming their identity and the type of volunteer activity within the organization;
• reimburse volunteers for expenses related to the volunteer assistance they provide;
• insure volunteers’ life and health for the period of their volunteer activity in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Insurance”;
• invite foreigners and stateless persons to carry out volunteer activity in Ukraine, and send Ukrainian citizens abroad to carry out volunteer activity;
